Sergey Mikhailovich Brin (born August 21, 1973) is an American businessman. Brin studied computer science and mathematics before founding Google with Larry Page. Brin is president of technology at Google and has an estimated net worth of $18.7 billion, which makes him the 26th richest person in the world.

Sergey was born into a Jewish family. His father, Mikhail Brin, and his mother, Evgenia Brin, were mathematicians who graduated from Moscow State University. In 1979, when Brin was six years old, his family moved to the United States.

As the son of a mathematician, Sergey received a complete education. His primary education was at the elite Paint Branch Montossori school, Adelphi, Maryland. Then he continued his secondary education at Eleanor Roosevelt High School. After graduating in 1990, Sergei went on to major in computer science and mathematics at the University of Maryland, College Park. Sergei earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 1993. Then he continued his master's degree at Stanford University. In addition, he also studied business and earned an MBA from IE Business School.

Sergey Brin was involved in the world of information and communication while a student at Stanford. Brin showed an interest in the internet shortly after being accepted at Stanford. He wrote many papers discussing data-mining and pattern extraction. He also writes software that can convert Text to HTML to make his tasks easier.

At Stanford, he met Larry Page in 1995 who had the same interest in the internet. This is where the Google search engine was born. Page and Brin then worked hand in hand, worked together to explore, share ideas until the idea of ​​a search engine was born to find data, sites and web pages that exist in cyberspace. Sergey and Larry later wrote a work entitled "The Anatomy of a Large-Scale Hypertextual Web Search Engine". This work is considered to be the foundation for the founding of a search engine company which they named Google.
